7/22/12 The Weed

Well, I've heard of weeds creeping in, but this is ridiculous!

Today we pulled this vine out of the backyard, and off a tree it had entwined itself around. This must be at least 20 feet long!

And apparently it's a squash plant of some sort. It had this squash on it.

No idea what this thing actually is, even after opening it.

Our neighbors grow some pretty funky vegetables, so maybe this one escaped -- but how did it get this big without our noticing?! Wow!
